Empty Chairs
From 16 Apr 26 7:00 PM to 16 Apr 26 10:00 PM
Pull up a chair and be part of something special at the Still & West, Old Portsmouth.
On Thursday 16th April at 7pm, we're hosting an Empty Chairs gathering, in partnership with James Donougher from Enable Ability. As host, James will be wearing 'bright orange' so you can't miss him!! This community-led initiative brings people together in the simplest way - a few open seats at a table, ready for anyone who would like a bit of company and conversation. There’s no pressure, no commitment, and no expectations - just a warm welcome and the chance to connect.
Empty Chairs is all about tackling loneliness and encouraging genuine human connection. You won’t find speeches or formality - just an open invitation to join others, share a story, and be part of an inclusive, friendly space. If you’re feeling neighbourly, curious, or just looking for a moment among friendly faces, this is for you.
We’re proud to support a campaign with such a positive, straightforward mission. Led by Enable Ability, with James Donougher’s dedication to inclusive community work, the initiative creates opportunities for everyone to feel more at home and less alone. Learn more about the campaign at emptychairs.org.uk.
If you’d like to know more or just wish to let us know you’re coming along, feel free to contact the team at the Still & West. You’re always welcome - just as you are.
